You would own the pattern that makes each new connection fast to add and boring to maintain. Get that right and the product’s reach stops being limited by engineering time.

About the team and the opportunity

Paciva speaks to services directly and keeps reasoning focused on judgment rather than plumbing. That is part of why the product feels quick, and it is a design you would inherit and extend.

The connector pattern is already designed and the roadmap is long. What is missing is a person who owns the whole surface, from authentication and rate limits through sync behavior and failure recovery.

What the role covers

You own every connection between Paciva and the services customers use. That covers authentication, sync behavior, rate limits, error recovery, and the health signals that tell a customer when a connection needs attention. You decide what gets synced, what gets cached, and what is left alone.

What you will work on

  • Own the connector framework, including authentication, sync, retries, and recovery
  • Ship new connectors on a predictable cadence, with tests and documentation
  • Handle multiple accounts of the same service per person, including personal and work separation
  • Build the health signals that tell a customer when a connection needs attention
  • Work with the enterprise motion on organizations that connect their own internal systems
  • Hold the data handling commitments published in the trust center
  • Reduce the time it takes to add the fiftieth connector below the time it took to add the fifth

What we need from you

  • 4+ years in backend engineering with heavy third party API work
  • Scars from OAuth, token refresh, webhook delivery, and partner rate limits
  • Strong judgment about what to sync, what to cache, and what to leave alone
  • Care for data handling, permissions, and least privilege by default
  • Ability to write a connector spec another engineer can follow
  • Preference for one good pattern applied twenty times over twenty clever exceptions

Compensation and benefits

Compensation is set by role scope, experience, skills, location, market data, and internal equity. Every role carries meaningful equity, because the person who builds a domain from nothing should own part of what they build. For sales roles, compensation combines base salary with variable incentive pay, and the target is stated as on target earnings.

Remote work and travel

Every role here is remote. Paciva has people in Miami and Austin, and the team works across time zones. That puts weight on clear written communication, ownership, practical collaboration, and dependable follow through. Most roles include occasional travel for team meetings, customer sessions, company events, or off sites.
